Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a client-centered method to enhance intrinsic motivation for change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. Developed by William R. Miller and Stephen Rollnick, it is widely used in addiction treatment, healthcare, and counseling. MI emphasizes empathy, develops discrepancy, rolls with resistance, and supports self-efficacy.
