Here we are at the end of another year. For those following this website for a few years, you have most likely noticed the explosion in the size of the database. In 2024, we added nearly 300 articles. While the focus of the site has changed since nearly fifteen years ago when I published my first article on Flourishing Life Society, the passion and dedication remain constant.
The focus of the Psychology Fanatic website for 2025 is working my back through the articles published before 2020 and rewriting most of them with references and evidence based support. In addition, Psychology Fanatic will continue to explore and add new articles exploring the vast collection of theories and concepts found in the past and present of psychology research.
The early focus of Flourishing Life Society was psychological and emotional wellness. Psychology and wellness are intricately related. Our bodies and minds reciprocally influence each other. One cannot adequately understand wellness without some understanding of psychology. This also holds true for psychology. In order to understand the magnificent role of our mind in our human experience, we also must understand the feeling impact of the body.
Wellness and Psychology
Early in this endeavor, almost a decade ago, I wrote an article titled Wellness Basics. Experiencing wellness is a holistic effort, found through practices that improve health of the body, mind, and spirit. Many of the theories in psychology point to this holistic approach as the key to healthy and happy living. For example, a healthy diet positively influences emotional regulation. Healthy social relationships are positively associated with longevity and health.
Psychology Fanatic intends on expanding the collection of articles to highlight this association, exploring the interactive role between healthy behaviors and psychological wellbeing.
Thank-you for the continued support of this project. I hope my research and writing has helped in some small way.
