2024 Article Newsletter Volume 4

Welcome to March 2024 Volume 4 article update newsletter. During the last several weeks, the added articles are mixed. A few of the articles are a carry-over from the social psychology focus from February. I added a few additional defense mechanism articles and mood disorder articles.

The lone oddball subject of this batch is mental contrasting. Mental contrasting is a cognitive function also known as “mental comparison”, is a psychological strategy that involves comparing the desired future with the current reality. This technique is commonly used in goal setting and behavior change efforts to bridge the gap between envisioning a positive outcome and recognizing the potential obstacles or challenges in achieving it. I found the topic interesting.

This website and research is a full time job, requiring nearly forty hours a week. I primarily do this out of passion for the topic. You can help defray the costs by visiting links, reading articles, purchasing books through the Amazon links in citations, or by visiting any interesting ads.
